I really like the art style

I totally didn’t reuse title from several volumes ago. No, totally not.

Managed to blow up my budget as usual. It’s only first week of this month and there’s barely anything left in budget for this month’s useless stuff. Upcoming stuff to be pre-ordered includes Tsunako Artbook, Miyasaka Miyu Artbook, and then Doki Doki Sister Aoi-chan Vol. 2. And then there’s Alia’s Carnival Double Package which costs not cheap. Movies side, there are The Martian and selector destructed WIXOSS. On games bonuses, I’m still missing World Election tapestries, about three of them (Mamizu only). Lastly, there are two upcoming events this month – Mimiket (next week) and Sunshine Creation (end of month).

I’ll see how I can pass this month without bleeding too much.

On eroge, I finished Sae route of Quintuple Splash. I then decided to pause it for a moment to play something that is less charage and more on gloomy side. And so I’m currently playing Natsu no Iro no Nostalgia. It doesn’t exactly have the best story but genre-wise it fits my need. I didn’t expect the guro-ish thing happening early at the common route though. Not really a problem though. I mean, I did find Hakoniwa Logic sufficiently fun. I mean, fun. Currently at chapter 2 (common route) and doesn’t seem to be too bad so far story-wise. The art is good though. As expected from games I bought – they’re at least pretty (subjectively speaking).

For reference, here’s how I decide which game to buy:

Half kidding aside, here’s the actual list:

  1. Art style. Original illustrator obvious takes most impact but sometimes CG Artist is also considered (with notable example being Koikake and all minori stuff). Less balloons is a plus.
  2. Music. Or sometimes just the opening song (and movie). Though honestly it only applies to minori stuff (again) because Tenmon.
  3. Story? Or something. Actually as long it passes the above list I don’t really care about the story. Of course it affects how fast I can finish the game but fortunately I’ve been braindamaged enough to be able to pass through most of crappier stories without damaged even further. No, that’s not a good thing.

I believe I have something else to write but can’t remember what it was. Oh well ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Digest Vol. 29 – Frozen Dead (part 2)

Top image queue ran out (it was one, heh). As everyone is busy new year-ing, there doesn’t seem to be much on news front. Well, there are quite a few anime announcements and perhaps some from Denkigai. I don’t really cover anime here and the eroge ones are still too few information. Sagaplanets new game is still just silhouette and ALcot’s… well, it’s ALcot Honeycomb and the illustration doesn’t quite interest me just yet.

Winter sure is cold. Especially when queuing outside for hours. Blanket did help but only until the entry queue starts moving. Afterwards it’s impossible to use with all walking and stuff. Winter sucks.

Heavily distracted by Comiket and barely managed to finish Koikake. Yay. The last two stories are quite good. I cried a bit during Yui’s route and sufficiently intrigued on Last Episode that I cleared it in single run. Overall good game with some good stories and great soundtracks. Funny I initially liked Yui most and then liked Rinka as well but ended up liking Ayane most. Sorry Yui, you’re cute but Ayane is the best after all.

Onward to Delivara. Four routes left and currently at first Aya h-scene. I seem to be heavily distracted during h-scenes. And Parasol’s h-scenes being stupid long doesn’t help either.

Company Booths

  • Sprite. Comiket. Finally a Rika hug pillow cover. And then even more tapestries. At this point I gave up getting them all. Probably one or two (or three) tapestries and then drama CDs.
  • Circus. Comiket. Nothing particularly interesting.
  • Pikatto Anime. Both Denkigai and Comiket. The availability of new tapestries at the events is a bit of mystery and since it only incurs 432 JPY extra I figured might as well pre-order it. There’s Hanasaki Workspring stuff as well but no pre-order until post-events.
  • Saga Planets. Denkigai and Comiket (partial). Inori tapestry! And more Inori tapestries! Also at Comiket for some of the stuff.
  • Dengeki Moeoh. Comiket. Chikotam <3
  • Kadokawa. Comiket. More stuff are still being announced. Also, Chikotam <3 (the actual booth for above).
  • minori. Both Denkigai and Comiket. I like character designs for the next game so I’ll probably buy both. There’s calendar as well which I’ll probably buy unless someone else announces something more interesting.
  • Curtain Curtain Damashii. Comiket. Karory tapestries are a bit interesting but fortunately(?) they’re not double suede, she isn’t high enough on my list, and the illustrations aren’t high enough to warrant a purchase. Pan, on the other hand… Still thinking if I should pre-order or just buy at Comiket. The former costs 1130 JPY more (postage and tax) and missing bonus mini shikishi. If last event’s Cran Crown is any reference, it should be okay. Who am I kidding. Getting them now.
  • NanaWind. Denkigai. Interesting one is Inori hug pillow cover even though she doesn’t get any h-scenes (yet?).
  • August. Comiket. The crystal calendar is quite interesting.
  • Whirlpool. Denkigai. That blanket’s illustration is quite good and the size is big-ish. Unfortunately it costs big-ish as well.
  • Broccoli (and all ages Toypla). Comiket and later online. That Nene tapestry/blanket.
  • Amuse Craft (Hearts, Us:track). Denkigai. The Koikake set actually are filled with stuff I can use. Kokoro Log on other hand, may or may not happen. Not going to be tricked again into doing online early pre-order. This is the part everyone learns same thing and results in failing at Denkigai, right?
  • Electro.muster. Comiket. Double suede Karory \o/
  • Melonbooks. Comiket. Nothing particularly interesting apart of free new year postcard…
  • Melonbooks. Stores. …which can be used to buy Pan tapestry at their stores.
